Yesterday was a blast. I worked from 7a-2p and then came home to the incredible smells of Thanksgiving. Marti put together an amazing feast. Turkey, ham, homemade mac and cheese, stuffing (a cornbread based stuffing), sweet potatoe casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry casserole, yeast rolls, and other goodies. And then there was the dessert table (all home made): pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, Toll House pie, Texas brownies, and apple pie. And to top it off, yesterday was my birthday. And so I got to open presents. I so enjoyed the day.
This has been a pretty relaxed day around here. I've enjoyed a 16 mile run, helping Marti around the house, and hanging out with my parents. Later today we will exchange some Christmas gifts (as we won't be getting together with my folks in December), going out for some pizza, and then going to see the new movie Lincoln. I'm so glad Marti is not into this whole Black Friday thing. It sounds tiring. And stressful.
The other bummer of the past two days is that Sarah wasn't here. She is in New Jersey with her boyfriend and his family. But she is having a good time and I'm good with that. Plus she comes home next weekend to enjoy The Grand Illumination in Colonial Williamsburg. Can't wait to see her.
