This past week I have worked only one shift. It has been nice to be a little bit slow. And it has been nice to be at home. It has been a while since I had a stretch of time off without traveling somewhere. Have I mentioned how nice it has been?
Anyway, my main duty this past week has been to stay at home with the little ones. Marti has taken advantage of my time off to get Christmas shopping done. She has taken both Ben and Sarah on their Christmas shopping excursions. Each year Marti takes each kid out for a long afternoon of shopping. Each one gets to choose where to go and where to eat. The kids and Marti really look forward to this time. I was glad to be able to contribute to their fun this year by staying at home with Kate and Amy.
Kate continues to do well. She is really coming into her own. She is a very content easy going little girl. That is not to say that she doesn't throw an occasional fit (because she does every once in a while) but she really goes with the flow. She really seems to enjoy being around the whole gang. And as you can see from the pictures, she loves to smile and laugh.
Kate is gaining weight well. She pretty much will eat anything! And, her physical mobility is improving as well. She is able to do an "Army type" crawl while on her tummy. The other night she was even able to stand for a few seconds without assistance. In short time she will be walking I am sure.
Amy continues to grow as well. She is definitely becoming her own person. She loves to dress herself as you can see from the picture (Ben's hat with ear flaps, a tutu, and red ladybug rainboots!). She really loves Kate too. The two girls are starting to bond, in spite of the occasional bonk on the Kate's head. We are so thankful that they are getting along.
This coming week is going to be very busy. Marti takes Sam on his shopping trip tomorrow. I work Tuesday and Wednesday. Marti leaves for Thomasville on Wednesday to visit her family for Christmas. I will stay behind with Sarah because she has Tech Week and Performances for The Nutcracker. She has practices till 11pm on Wednesday and Thursday with 4 performances Friday through Sunday. She is looking forward to the performances as she has been practicing about 6-10 hours every weekend since September.
PS. If you don't like the quality of the pictures above, I am sorry. I tried using my Blackberry to take the pictures. They look better on the tiny Blackberry screen but they were the cutest pictures I had from this week.
