Somehow, three posts from last week got "lost". I see that I sent them to be posted but they didn't make it to the blog. Such is life. Here are the three lost posts.
More Hats In the Final Week of the MLB Season
I had hoped to find the remaining MLB hats before the end of the World Series. I was unable to complete the list but did find the following hats before the White Soxs swept the Astros. I found the LA Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Kansas City Royals. The only teams that I haven't found yet are the Florida Marlins, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Cincinnati Reds.
Relaxation, Not Relief Work
As I previously mentioned a few posts ago, Marti and I were to travel to South Asia this week to assist in the earthquake relief work. Though we were disappointed to not be going, we decided to take the "lemons and make lemonade".
Marti had already moved all the kids suitcases and school supplies to her parent's house. We had already set aside some money for personal expenses while away on our relief trip. We decided to take advantage of this and went away to the Aberdares Country Club for 3 nights of rest and relaxation. We are so glad we did. We had a great time together and we feel recharged. Sadly, we have not had any time alone like that for over 2 years. Way too long.
The Aberdares Country Club is set in the middle of the Aberdare Mountains and Mount Kenya. It has a lovely view of both ranges. And it is an animal sanctuary. Warthogs, peacocks, dik diks, gazelles roam the grounds freely. They also had a horseback riding safari down to the sanctuary where we viewed giraffe, zebra, eland, and others. The weather was wonderful and the food was incredible. We are recharged and ready for the coming days.
When life gives you lemons..
The Rhinos Lose for the First Tim
The Rhinos tried another come back yesterday but being down by 11 runs in the final inning proved too much. The Rhinos lost to the Canadians 18-11 on a hot and sunny day in Nairobi. The Rhinos usually solid defense faltered and gave the Canadians too many unearned runs; it was the most runs given up by the Rhinos all season. The offense hit the ball well, but Canada made some excellent plays to take the wind out of the Rhinos.
The Rhinos are still in first place with a 5-1 record. Next week is an off week. They will get another chance at the Canadians on November 12th.
