As per our custom, we went out to eat on Christmas Eve. We went to our favorite place - The Nairobi Java House. One of the better dishes they serve is Pollo Asado with Beans and Rice. Go figure - my Christmas Eve meal was a Mexican Meal in an American Style Restaurant in Kenya!
After our delicious meal, we returned to the house and enjoyed a Christmas Concert by the Kids. It included not only the music listed but as I read The Christmas Story from Luke 2, the children (including Sam) dressed up and acted out the parts. Ben was Joseph, Sarah was Mary, and Sam was a shepherd (a Ninja Shepherd at that the way he handled his staff!). It was a great time. Maybe it will be a new tradition. For those interested here is the program:
A Christmas Concert by Sarah
Opening Prayer - Sam
Good King Wenceslas - Sarah on Piano
O Come Emmanuel - Ben on Violin
We Three Kings of Orient Are - Sarah on Piano
Reading of a Christmas Story - Daddy
Away in a Manger - Sarah on Piano
Silent Night - Voice Solo by Mama
Reading of THE Christmas Story - Daddy
O Come All Ye Faithful - Piano and Violin Duet
We Wish You a Merry Christmas - All to Sing
Very cool! We just finished our celebrations with family, and are now winding down by surfing a little. It was nice to read about your Christmas Eve, and gives me ideas about what ours may look like in a few years! Sounds great.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
